You can't deny it? After the long dark, cold winter, you’ve been missing the wonderfully, sunny and warm, sound of the ukulele. So…... the Dukes of Uke would like to invite you to celebrate the return of spring with all their usual songs and nonsense.
For these two special shows, our diminutive instrument of choice, the dinky-dandy-always-handy ukulele, will be partnered by the largest, and most profound, member of the string family. Yes, it's the mega mogul of the strings, the double bass. The little and large of music world together.
And helping us make this possible is the youthful and fantastically talented double bass player Brendan Norris from Symington. Brendan, who left Biggar High School just last year, is already a very talented double bass player and begins studying the instrument at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland from September of this year. Amazingly, despite his talent and impressive musical family background, he admits to being an admirer of the Dukes of Uke! It presented us with a wonderful opportunity to have him to play with us before he becomes famous and realises the truth about the Dukes. We are all really looking forward to presenting this new show with Brendan.
